Sep 22, 2016 · Hello Forum Members, I bought a Ford 1700 tractor with 550 hours on the meter. It has been sitting for around 10 years per sellers family. The engine started up fairly easy and runs great. The problem I have is that the hydraulics work maybe for the first 5 minutes then stops. The front end loader and 3 point stops working.

Dan Everyone on line with this question misses the most important information 1 the outer nut is the female thread. The inner gland nut is the male2. Remove hydraulic fitting Go in hole & drill into the gland nut just far enough to get a small straight punch in nut. Important don't drill into shaft 3. Use punch to hold inner. Unthread outer nut4. Now push gland nut in. Remove snap ring.

The New Holland site doesn't list a 7108 loader. A 7106 (for fairly small tractors like 1220's) is listed with a lift capacity of (I think) 600 lbs. A 7308 loader is listed for somewhat larger tractors, including 1920's). The lift capacity of a 7308 is given as 776 - 1,020 lbs. Of course, lift capacity and maximum weight are somewhat different

The tractor would be worth more if it has HST, mid-pto and the 1310 loader is a good size for the 1620. I think that the original Ford 1720 has a 3-cyl Shibaura engine--maybe even the same as my 1710. I also recall hearing of 4-cyl. 1720's and that NH did a major redesign of the Ford 1720.

I have an Allied 195 loader on my 1710. The bucket is fairly small as loaders go but it's probably a good match for the tractor.
